Description:
Rantac 150 Tablet reduces the production of acid in the stomach. Historically, it was used to treat conditions such as stomach ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritation of the food pipe (esophagitis), and other acid-related digestive disorders. By lowering stomach acid levels, it helped the lining of the stomach and food pipe heal and reduced symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux.

When it was prescribed, patients were generally advised to take it consistently at the same times each day. It could be taken with or without food, and lifestyle measures such as eating smaller meals, avoiding trigger foods, maintaining a healthy weight, and avoiding tobacco use were often recommended to improve symptom control.

Most people tolerated the medication well, although side effects such as headache, constipation, diarrhea, or mild stomach discomfort could occur. Serious symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, unusual bleeding, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), or significant changes in mental status required prompt medical evaluation.
